BLACK FRIDAY ORCHESTRAL / CINEMATIC SAMPLE LIBRARIES DEALS GUIDE:
Black Friday is upon us, and with that, comes a mindblowing amount of Orchestral Sample Library deals. Here’s a little guide I put together for the deals you shouldn’t miss.
For any of the libraries you decide to get, I suggest you to watch reviews / listen to demos before purchasing.
Most of these deals will stay until the end of November.
Also, if you’re curious about my personal favorites, I put together a 50 minutes video-review of all the libraries I use the most here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6yNLvk8POE
But now, let’s get to the Black Friday Sales guide:
–PART 1 –  MY FAVORITE BLACK FRIDAY DEALS —
ALL IN ONE ORCHESTRA:
Jaeger – Essential Modern Orchestra – $449 instead of $599:
Jaeger is one of the best libraries to get if you need something with all the essentials to start composing Modern Orchestral / Cinematic Music.

It features Strings, Brass, Percussion, astounding Solo Vocals and even top-notch Trailer SFX samples.
This library will also allow you to easily morph all those organic orchestral instruments into synthetic / hybrid sounds thanks to its internal effects. Its only downside in my opinion might be the absence of Woodwinds, and the lack of legato on a few patches (though they’re working on that I think).

Albion ONE –  €336 instead of €449:
Much like Jaeger, Albion One is an omni-comprehensive library containing Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion & Synths / Sound Design.
I haven’t tried this library personally, but from what I heard in the demos it sounds pretty amazing. Probably more dynamic than Jaeger, but it also seems to have a less loud / huge sound a s downside. It also comes in Ensembles instead of patches split per instrument.
EastWest Composer Cloud – 30% Off for a Yearly Subscription:
A collection of all the sample libraries developed by EastWest, available at your fingertips for a yearly plan ($240/yr with this discount).
This is great inexpensive choice for people who never owned a sample library and want to get a taste of Composing Orchestral Music with professional libraries, but don’t have a big budget for it.
Most EastWest sample libraries are very old however, and because of that and the way they were made, it’ll take some extra work to make them sound very good like newer libraries do out of the box, but they’ve got everything you need to write Orchestral music that sounds real.
You can also pay monthly (without discount) and interrupt at any time.

BRASS:
• 8Dio Century Brass – $358 instead of $598 with code 8M8ZING:
MY REVIEW: https://youtu.be/X6yNLvk8POE?t=1349
• Talos Vol.1 – Horns / Talos Vol.2 – Low Brass – $199 instead of $249:
A new top-notch Brass library from Audio Imperia which is split in two parts.

I haven’t had a chance to test it yet, but the demos sound amazing and Audio Imperia never ceases to amaze me as a Composer lately.
PERCUSSION:
• DAMAGE – $149 instead of $299:
Designed for people who need aggressive Percussion for their hybrid orchestral / trailer cues.Still one of my favorites Percussive libraries to date, Damage boasts a very powerful sound and comes with some Cinematic Percussive Ensembles, SFX Impacts and Interesting loops that you can tweak with its internal engine to make them your own.
This library is still a staple in orchestral music production for me, even if it’s very old right now. Due to the fact it aged very well though, almost everyone has it so it’s not very “unique” to use it in a track now. It also lacks of the more organic / dynamic types of Orchestral Percussion.

• Hans Zimmer Percussion Pro – €449 instead of €599
Supposedly legendary Percussive library which I never tried, from what I heard in my peers’s tracks using them however, it has a very huge and deep organic sound that you won’t get to that easily with other percussive libraries. The Pro version features some custom mixes from JunkieXL which brought the original HZ Percussion library to the next level.

The downside of it is that it’s obviously very expensive. From what I heard, it seems more geared towards film scoring rather than aggressive trailer cues. But I might be wrong.
• Cerberus Epic & Cinematic Drums – $199 instead of $299:
This library feels like a more versatile & modern version of Damage, featuring Ensembles, a Drum Kit, Sound Design & amazing MIDI loops that go along with it, which can be an entry point for understanding how to write for Percussion.Cerberus also features some sound design samples, and just like Jaeger, it gives you the ability to create your own with the engine.
It’s probably a more worthwhile buy if you don’t own any aggressive percussion libraries like Damage, but if you already do, you might only use this one as a layer for a more modern sound.

GUITARS:
• SHREDDAGE 2 – $39 instead of $99:
If you’re a metalhead who’d like to have some amazing guitars in your tracks, but you’re not able to play those insane solos or palm mutes you write, check this out.
Shreddage 2 is one of the best guitar libraries out there. It simulates the dry/clean sound of a real guitar through MIDI Sequencing. You can then run it through some virtual amp simulators like Guitar Rig or Waves GTR to get the full Rock / Metal sound you’re looking for without actually having to record a real guitar yourself.
The downside is that it takes quite some time to make it sound convincing like a real guitar player would sound, but you can get much closer with Shreddage than you will with most plugins.
The sale also extends to the Expansions and Shreddage 2 Bass.

TRAILER SFX:
• Scenes From The Multiverse – $35 instead of $59:
For those who want access to the Trailer SFX that have been used in the music of many movie trailers for the last 3 years.

Scenes From The Multiverse was developed by Audio Imperia with legend Trailer Music Producer / Sound Designer GENERDYN. It features a modest but high quality collection of 122 Trailer SFXs between Trailer Hits / Impacts, Risers, Pulses, Downers, Drones & Stretched FX.
It’s just one of the many Trailer SFX libraries I recommend, but defintiely one of my favorites in terms of sound AND price. $35 is a steal for this.
However, many of the sounds in this library have been used so much that they will not give your track a more unique sound. They’re still top-notch however.

BUY: https://www.audioimperia.com/collections/cinematic/products/scenes-from-the-multiverse-vol-1• KeepForest Evolution: Atlantica – $69 instead of $199
A surge of power and violence in form of Hard-Hitting Trailer SFX.

Evolution Atlantica is similar to Scenes From The Multiverse as a concept.
If you use it in a song, it’s guaranteed to give it a dark / aggressive / trailer vibe due to how these sounds were crafted.
As a downside it feels like they pushed for quantity a bit more than quality on this one. The library lends itself well to sound design / electronic trailer music, but I wouldn’t use it outside of that genre.

SYNTHS / PULSES:
• Shredders Vol.1 – $39 instead of $65:
Avant-garde sound design and underscore pulses for Film & Games.
Just like Scenes From The Multiverse, Shredders is a modest collection of not more than 200 samples, but most of those are pretty damn great.
I wrote a demo for it back in the day which is still one of my favorite productions, which has a very underscore / synth heavy character that I couldn’t have achieved without this library.
It may not work as well for trailer cues, but I think it’s perfect for games and underscore movies.
• Output Signal – $168 instead of $230:
An incredibly vast array of Pulse instruments that you can easily blend together with SIGNAL’s engine to create your own, even if you’re not good with synthesis and sound design.
Signal is the sort of library to make the job easy for everyone in terms of creating sounds. It comes with many presets, as well as an intuitive graphical user interface that will lead you to create many kinds of pulses / synthetic loops very easily.
The downside is that this is not an actual synth and you’re limited to only create those sort of looping sounds with it. Omnisphere 2 would be a much better alternative in terms of what you can do with it, but it also costs way more.
